Editor-in-Chief Ishii's ``A Splendid Life of Extraneous Thoughts''
I want to do this and that. I want to enjoy life more and more! With such an ambitious mindset, we will bring you the days of Editor-in-Chief Ishii, who enjoys life to the fullest, full of distracting thoughts. This time, he will talk about his rushing around for photo shoots as the first person in a long time (about a year!) to take charge of the first feature. The subject was shirts. We tried to capture the sexiness that only shirts can have, with the theme of "wind"...
Hello, this is Ishii, the editor-in-chief. I'm being blown by the wind at the harbor. I can almost hear you all saying, "There's no way that's possible!"... In this article, I'll talk about the shooting scene of a feature that I was in charge of for the first time in a long time. Now that the city has finally regained its vitality, we adults have been thinking hard about how we should feel and what kind of style we should have, and we looked for the answer in a shirt. What kind of shirt is that? You can take a closer look at the details in the July issue (on sale from 5/25). The photo above is a scene in front of the "Osanbashi Pier Yokohama International Passenger Terminal." The model looks so cool in the shirt fluttering in the wind!
Is this really Japan? The location for the filming was the Yokohama Creative City Center, also in Yokohama. The facility is housed in the former Yokohama branch of Daiichi Bank, a historical building, and is also the venue for art events. What kind of scenes were shot here?
Next up is Hawaii... No, it's "Pacific DRIVE-IN" in Shichirigahama, Kamakura. As the name suggests, it is a drive-in cafe, and since it is right in front of a popular surf spot, it was crowded even on weekdays. At the same time, it was pouring rain in Tokyo, but here the sky was beautifully blue. The photographer (pictured) and all the staff. "We're lucky," they said with a grin.
This is Daikoku Wharf in Yokohama, which reminds me of the highway in the movie "La La Land." I took pictures of the evening and night scenes here.
Oh yes, we also visited the Riviera Zushi Marina, Japan's leading luxury marina, together with the hair and makeup team who worked tirelessly during the shoot.
We also shot in many other locations, including Tokyo, and I think the results were great (I'm bragging). Please compare the locations introduced here with the feature in the July issue of LEON! You might even make a pilgrimage to the locations. Bye.
