From LEON Editor's

Every Wednesday, there is a corner where LEON's editorial staff introduces the daily process of creating the magazine and what they learned through interviews. This time, Tsuzaka, part 2 of the editorial department's blonde hair staff, went to Geneva to cover the latest watch launch.

Hello, good evening, good morning. This is Tsuzaka from LEON. For the first time in three years, I went to Geneva with my editor-in-chief, Ishii, to cover the release of a new watch.

The nature of watch presentations has changed during the coronavirus pandemic, and before the coronavirus pandemic, there were two major presentations: "SIHH" (Geneva) in January and "Baselworld" (Basel) in March, but in 2020 Since 2017, the two have been combined into a presentation called ``Watches & Wonders'' (Geneva). Since 2020 was the year when the coronavirus was spreading, the LEON team participated in Watches & Wonders for the first time. Both Ishii and I were excited to see what kind of watches would be available this year.

As soon as I entered the venue, the booths of various brands were crowded. We visited these booths and looked at the new watches from each brand, but at that time we were asked if we wanted to drink, and since we were from Europe, we ordered...champagne, of course!

When the interview is over, go to the next brand's booth and interview. My routine is to smoke whenever I have some free time. If you do this repeatedly, your stomach will become bloated with water in no time.

By the way, some brands have a bar inside their booth, and in addition to champagne and coffee, they also offer standard cocktails such as espresso martinis and gin and tonics, as well as original cocktails unique to that brand. !

So this was my business trip to Geneva, where I did some interviews and had some drinks...Well, I didn't introduce any watches at all. We'll be introducing this new watch in the July issue, which goes on sale on May 25th, so stay tuned!

That's what I thought, but I'm going to give you one of Ishii's and one of my recommendations in advance.

Ishii was interested in Jaeger-LeCoultre. This year, Coconchi's classic ``Reverso'' is back. Among them, Ishii fell in love at first sight with the PG case and black dial. This duo was firmly into the classic Reverso.

And what caught my attention was Cartier. Among them, ``Tank Normal'' is an arrangement of the original 1917 Tank. The YG case and bracelet type and the Pt case and bracelet type have an antique look by giving them a satin finish instead of polishing them to shine.

Coincidentally, the two editorial staff chose a classic watch, but this year, classical watches are making a comeback...so please wait until the July issue for more! !
