The late Mitsuhiro Matsuda, a legendary designer who is also known as the founder of Tokyo Fashion Week, launched the brand in 1989 as an original eyewear brand for overseas markets. Inspired by architecture and the concept of steampunk, the brand produces frames with a unique presence and intricate engravings that are said to be works of art, all in Sabae, Fukui Prefecture, the mecca for eyewear.
