Editor-in-Chief Ishii's ``A Splendid Life of Extraneous Thoughts''

I want to do that, I want to do this. I want to enjoy life even more! Based on such greedy thoughts, we will deliver the daily life of Editor-in-Chief Ishii, who enjoys life full of distractions.

nice to meet you! Also, every time! Some people too. Hello. This is Ishii, the editor-in-chief. In this column, updated every Monday, I will write about my greedy and earthly desires. This time, the first time, I will be talking about "life with idle thoughts" which is also mentioned in the column title. What exactly are distractions? When you look it up in the dictionary, it says, "An unnecessary thought that distracts you. Delusional thoughts, worldly desires," and it's often used as a bad word. But. If we look at it from a bird's-eye view, we can see that the things that make our daily lives enjoyable, the things and experiences that we don't need but would be fun to have, are hidden in these idle thoughts. A long time ago, at LEON, we used to express the word luxury as ``a great (great) waste.'' Luxury is something that people can't live without, but that would make them feel rich and happy if they had it. When you think about it, thoughts and luxury are kind of similar!?︎ I want to continue enjoying my days while saying things like that (lol). I'm sure all Club LEON members will understand! I will start this series with my own interpretation.

For example, golf. I can live without playing golf, but it has become an indispensable activity for me, both as a sport and as a means of communicating with various people. Whenever I pick up an umbrella, I can't help but check my grip, and the day before the round, I'm so excited I can't sleep, thinking, ``You're an elementary school student on a field trip!'' These thoughts are all just a bunch of distractions, aren't they? However, I fell in love with it and was able to play a round at the Old Course at St. Andrews, the world's oldest golf course and considered a "sacred place" (pictured above).

As winter approaches, I start thinking about snowboarding...but actually, I've only done it 5 times (lol). I used to ski, but only recently started snowboarding. Is there a good old man now? No, it's never too late to start anything. Thanks to that, I was able to have a rendezvous with Chika Takeuchi, who won a silver medal at the Sochi Olympics. The photo is from Niseko, where I traveled for the Club LEON event this April.

This cigar may be the ultimate in "great waste." The moment you hold a brown liquor in your hand and smoke purple smoke, and have a conversation like ``Let's go there on the weekend'' or ``Do you know the most delicious sushi restaurant?''...that moment when you have a conversation with such ``irrelevant thoughts'', oh, I feel so alive. I am surrounded by happiness.

I want to share these times and experiences with everyone! This was one of our thoughts when Club LEON was launched. We will be preparing various events and benefits in the future. Now, everyone, let's enter the wonderful world of life without distractions!
