Editor-in-Chief Ishii's ``A Splendid Life of Extraneous Thoughts''

I want to do that, I want to do this. I want to enjoy life even more! Based on such greedy thoughts, we will deliver the daily life of editor-in-chief Ishii, who enjoys life full of distractions. This time, we'll be talking about the classic car race "GIRO DELL'ISOLA OKINAWA" sponsored by the popular watchmaker Chopard. I spent two days running around Okinawa, blessed with sunny skies that are rare at this time of year.

Chopard is also famous for sponsoring Italy's Mille Miglia, one of the world's most famous classic car races. There is also a popular watch model called "Mille Miglia", which we have introduced many times at LEON. Chopard will sponsor a classic car race in Japan as Japan Company. This is ``GIRO DELL'ISOLA OKINAWA,'' which will be held for the first time this year.

Look at the photo above. From the left: "Porsche 356 C", "Ferrari Testarossa", "Porsche 356 Speedster", "Alfa Romeo Giulietta Spider"... Treasure gourmet items coveted by enthusiasts are lined up majestically. What's more, the background is...the ruins of Nakagusuku Castle, a world heritage site! This combination alone should make you realize how valuable an experience this race is.

This is at American Village in Mihama, Chatan Town, Okinawa's most fashionable area. The "Dodge Charger" and the pin-up girl look great together. Okinawan culture and motorsports are a perfect match!

By the way, I participated in the race with the president of Chopard Japan. Due to various circumstances, it's not a classic car, but I successfully completed the race in a "BMW Z4" for two days while struggling with a frame map!

Even though it was early March, the sunshine in Okinawa was quite strong. BBQ lunch after driving a long distance! I enjoyed my meal in front of this beach, but I really wanted to drink beer.

After driving along the best road with continuous curves and no traffic lights, we arrived at Cape Hedo, the northernmost tip of Okinawa's main island. The world of the movie ``King Kong: Skull Island'' is right in front of your eyes! It was such a spectacular spectacle that I completely refreshed my brain.

The real pleasure of this race was to visit Okinawa's wonderful scenery and cultural areas by car and experience something I had never experienced before. Further details will be provided on Instagram LIVE on the evening of Thursday, April 6th, so please keep an eye out for that!
