Editor-in-Chief Ishii's ``A Splendid Life of Extraneous Thoughts''

I want to do that, I want to do this. I want to enjoy life even more! Based on such greedy thoughts, we will deliver the daily life of editor-in-chief Ishii, who enjoys life full of distractions. This time, we'll show you a frame from the cover shoot. Please take a look at some of the details that we put into delivering great photos to everyone.

"Okay, at Shibuya Station at 3:00am!" It doesn't matter whether it's on the way home from a club or on a bar crawl... We met up with the location bus for the cover shoot of LEON's June issue. It was quite a numbing time for me at the age of 49, but what does it take to take good pictures? I whipped my body and headed out.

The shooting theme is "Navy", which is the first feature of the next issue. We want to dramatically express the “buddy color” that is most important to us! Then, we arrived at Ryugasaki Air Base in Ibaraki Prefecture. This is really Japan!? There was a magnificent location spreading out there. The matte blue Mercedes AMG SL looks great. I feel like Maverick.

This is the scene when we arrived at 6am. It has a solemn atmosphere filled with fog, and it looks like it was taken with an iPhone (well, it actually is), but don't you think it reminds you of a photo by contemporary artist Hiroshi Sugimoto?

What kind of photos and covers will be born in a place like this!?︎ Please look forward to the June issue, which will be sold on April 25th.
